Responsibilities

  • Participates in and performs investigating and maintaining claims:
    • Learns to review and evaluate coverage and / or liability.
    • Learns to secure and analyze necessary information (i.e., reports, policies, appraisals, releases, statements, records or other documents) to assist in the investigation of claims.
  • May participate in affecting settlements / reserves within prescribed limits; submits recommendations to supervisor on cases exceeding personal authority.
  • Learns to ensure that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Learns to ensure claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statues, regulations and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followed.
  • Learns to convey information (coverage, decision, outcomes, etc.) to all appropriate parties, maintaining a professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Successfully completes all coursework / education as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

You will:

  • Spend 5 weeks in intense classroom and on-the-job training
  • Gain a deep understanding of our business model and value proposition 
  • Get exposed to other areas of the business outside of your discipline
  • Shadow corporate meetings and gain a broad understanding of our place in the market
  • Have access to senior management throughout the program

 

Must complete a 5 week orientation at our Headquarters in Ohio in June 2020. The candidate will work permanently in our Fenton office after the orientation is complete. 

Qualifications

Anticipated graduation date ranging from Winter 2019 to Spring 2020

 

Education:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Field of Study: Liberal Arts, Business or a related discipline.
Experience: Part of a formal training program. Previous office experience preferred.

Scope of Job: Works within narrowly defined limits and authority on assignments of low complexity. Possesses basic functional knowledge and skills reflective of study and/or on the job development. Performs work under close supervision.

 

Physical Requirements:
• Requires prolonged sitting.
• Requires continuous use of computer.
• May lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 10 lbs.
• Requires regular and predictable attendance.
